I seem to remember some progrma that lests you convert scanned documents into normal text, where can I get this?

Check out the sites that sell scanners. I'm reliably told that scanners come with software to do just this. More generally, the kind of software you are looking for is called OCR or Optical Character Recognition software. There is a lot of it out there, but don't buy it before you pick out a scanner, you might be spending money twice.

Try Omni PagrPro 7.0 but expensive $250+ or try the demo/trial version if only scanning a few pages. It's one of the easiest OCR apps around--U can save to RTF, TXT, DOC, etc.

If you are looking for an OCR, get TextBridge Pro 9.0. It has the best format containing properties of any OCR. It is $70 but there is a really bug rebate on their web site. i think it is between 50 and 70. It is also the OCR in the Pagis Pro 7.0 suite.
