Dear Forum,

After a fresh installation of Windows 98SE from the factory
disk, what is the order of driver installs? Is it.........

A. Motherboard Chipset
Video Card
Monitor

B. Motherboard Chipset
Monitor
Video Card

C. Video Card
Monitor
Motherboard Chipset

D. Video Card
Motherboard Chipset
Monitor

E. Monitor
Video Card
Motherboard Chipset

E. Monitor
Motherboard Chipset
Video Card

Mobo and then video card should recognize monitor if its up to date drivers or you don't need monitor drivers since they may not be written well and cause problems later, I never install monitor anything.

Always install the motherboard chipset drivers first, makes everything else quicker when you install it.

I usually do video next so I can see what im doing better.

After that, sound, LAN, USB and then anything else.

Like Rangeral said, the video card, when installed, will pick up tour monitor. I only change the monitor installed if it is picked up wrong and I know it.
