I have a via mvp3 chipset with award bios. I have a dfi p5bv3+ mainboard, and when going to their site, came up with this "latest" bios update.

I'm assuming that the last update is the latest and greatest, and that it most likely handles all of the previous updates as well.

My question is, I have never flashed my bios. I guess once I do, it'll be like falling off a log (on a 1500 foot waterfall!) HA!

Anyway, do I just unzip the file, copy it to a floppy, then reboot with the floppy loaded in drive A:?

If this is it, then cool, but if not, I need to know before I try.

thanks in advance for any input.

Good luck In All..

You need the binary file and the flash program itself. Copy it to a bootable floppy then shutdown to dos prompt. Type awdflash at the a: prompt and hit enter. Make sure you wrote down the name of the binary file. Once you run awdflash it'll ask if you want to flash and choose yes then it'll ask if you want to save it and you can choose no as long as you know you have the right bios update. If you choose yes rename it to bios.old
Then it'll ask for the file name and you type the name of the binary file then hit enter and it "should" flash. Then once it's done reboot and go into your bios and load setup defaults then save and reboot. Then go into bios again and change anything you feel should be changed. If you still have problems go to epox's website, they have a step by step that shows everything I just told you. It's very simple. I did it my first time with no problems at all.
