I have a Toshiba 6X DVD that supports DMA but when I enable it, it does not take when the computer reboots. I have a Asus P5 AB with onboard sound. Does anybody know how to get around this?

I check the box, reboot, and the check is gone. I have the drive set as the master on the primary IDE connector. How about you? jmorrell 08-21-1999, 06:32 PM I had similar problems with my Creative Labs DVD. The standard Windows bus mastering drivers didn't seem to work. I got the same error you got. I installed the latest bus mastering drivers from my motherboard chipset manufacturer (VIA, in this case), and I was able to use DMA mode with my DVD. BC 08-23-1999, 04:46 PM you want to know how to make the click stick find it in your registry change the value from a 0 to a 1. Just do a find look for DMA and bam. I had checked this setting in windows on a drive that wasn't DMA had to go into reg. to make take the check out cause it couldn't find the drive. oops SysOpt.com
