I work in a medium-sized office in downtown San Francisco. Our company is made up of about 130 staff members. We email quite a bit internally and externally. We're in the MS Exchange server world and I know that we have a router. But apparently we need a spam filter because our spam has increased soooo much. It's funny at home, my personal email account has seen a major decrease in spam but my work email (along with everyone else's) has seen a big increase. Any suggestions for a spam filter? Other suggestions? What are other companies using?

Turn off the exchange server for 3 days and watch the spam drop off by 90%. The spam will be bounced back to the sender and your email address will be deleted from the spam list.
Seriously, there is nothing that works 100% at blocking spam.

Actually, that suggestion seemed like a really good one but we rely heavily on communication from the outside that we wouldn't want to interfere with.

"Turn off the exchange server for 3 days"
That was suggested on another site. The idea was laughted off the planet. But, my company tried it anyway cause it does sound good. Most spam is coming from fake addresses anyway so they don't get the bounced mail notice....

You can look into Etrsut Secure Content Manager - My Favorite
or Xwall for Exchange. Its good, but not as nice in my opinion.
iHateSpam for Exchange V1.6.310 (1.5.225 for Gateway)

Outsourcing these types of security is a wise choice!
