This may sound like a lame question but are the current motherboards that support Celeron compatible with Celeron D. im confused as to what to buy for one of my customers im not totally sure if they all work given that they are a Prescott core.

Thanks in advance for your help as always

Not all P4 boards will run Prescotts or Celeron Ds. The board needs to recognize the microcode of the CPU. check with the manufacturer if there is a bios update.

You should be ok except for the latest CeleronDs. Make sure to do a bios update.
