cannot boot to floppydisk

i want to resinstall windows me in first partition again. at bootup system refuses boot from floppydisk-bootdisk to format partition. i have multiple partitions. should i first remove also all windows-updates in software? boot sequence is a,c....

have you tried booting off the WinME CD?
it works fine for me :t

i dont understand.
bootfloppydisk is inside, also winme-cd but i must go to dos-prompt to format partitions c and d, further partitions must be untouched.
i must format outside windows.
normally when floppydisk other than floppybootdisk is in a and bootsequence is set to a,c.... then system will halt, telling me to remove. but it is starting normally.

floppydiskdrive was dirty. cleaned, it is working now.
