Im currently running an eMachines 1.8GHz Celeron with an Imperial 1.03 TriGem Computer, Inc. (WMT478/NWD) mobo with PhoenixBIOS 4.0 Release 6.0. Does anyone know if this motherboard would be able to take a Pentium 4 processor, 2.4GHz-2.8GHz?
TIA

mostlikely some low end P4

but you'll first need to do some research to see how high the mobo can go, and how to configure jumper if any for that

it's an eMachine running a celeron - I sincerely doubt it - sorry....

give us some specs on the FSB, etc. on the board and your other components, and maybe like Gamer said you could try a slower P4 and still get better performance, but before putting any $$ into an eMachine - wait on a bargain barebones system somewhere -

I shop compgeeks all the time and got nearly a whole system minus the processor for less than $100

Try htis link here. (http://www.e4allinc.info/dir1/motherboards/socket478/imperial.htm)
Check the configuration of your board against this layout to determine which imperial you have.
Some imperials were capable of using HT procs. What you have depends on what you'll be able to put in it. But yes it should take a P4.
