I am considering upgrading from office 97 to Office 2000. I don't use all of the products, mostly just Excel and Word. Has any body had any probles with 2000. Should I wait for a service pack to be release, or has one been release?? I could't find one at Microsoft's site. Please tell me your impressions of Office 2000.
Thanks

I like it. You can use HTML with anything!

I'm waiting for my ISP to support FrontPage extensions to post a web page with it.

If you converse with people using Office 97, you will run into compatibility problems ( well, they will).

I too like Office 2K. I really like the Frontpage 2000 and Word. as to "compatablity" problems there is a very easy fix for that and that is when you go to save the document that you created is go "save as" and choose office97 or 0ffice95 format. solves that "glitch" I use Office2k here at work and home but the rest of my co-workers have office95 and office97 and we share documents daily without an problems http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

Try it you will like it!

Just upgraded to Office2K Last week, and only had slight problems with installing it. For some reason it kept locking up my system or totally crashing, ie.blue screen death, fatal errors. But, after vigilant persistence, she finally gave in and let me install.

I recently upgraded about 15 computers running 95,98, and NT in my department at work to office 2000. Everyone seems to like it and it is stable. The only problem we've noted is that it is a hog applcation. some of the older computers really slowed down after the upgrade. It also likes a lot of ram. I would say 32 at a minimum, preferably 64+.

I'll tell you the one thing that made it worth it to me was when you drop down the fonts menu-
THEY ARE ALL IN THEIR OWN FONTS!!!!!
Jeeeezzz how long did it take them to figure that one out!!!

I used the Beta version for a while and upgraded later. Frontpage 2000 is a great improvement--you can correct and update your webpages on the fly. Access 2000 is better integrated with a faster engine. I still prefer Wordperfect Suite as a word processor.
