Ok, this is really silly, but i just cant remove the password logon request at start of win 98. It does have a password to enable certain things, and this i have. But how do i get rid of it?..Haha, i feel really stupid on this one.

Cheers peoples..

you should be able to go into the control panel and then the passwords shortcut and fiddle in there.

Try this- go to contol panel, then double-click the "network" applet. Under "configuration" look to see if "client for microsoft networks" is listed. If it is, click on it to highlight it and then click on remove. It will give you a warning about your network not being complete, but remove it anyway. You will have to reboot after closing out, but surprise! No more password. I think we have all been nailed by this one! Good luck.

I've been there too. Although, it seems to me, I had to change a setting in my registry. I'll do more research on that, and get back to you, unless someone else knows what I'm talking about, and beats me to it.

you want to get rid of the win password right? Simple do this:

1 Find the file name- USERNAME.pwl
2 Delete this file.
3 Next time win boots it will as for a password. Don't put anthing in there. hit ok
now there is no more password prompt.

If it is a network pass screen then go in and change to a windows pass as earlier stated. then procede with the above steps.
