I've installed a 32MB PC100 DIMM on an Octek Rhino 12+ w/ VIA VT82C580VPX chipset and Cyrix 6x86 PR200. The system only detects 8MB of RAM.Bad DIMM or a conflict someone knows about?

Nathan 08-17-1999, 09:16 PM Maybe that motherboard doesn't like or support that brand of module. runnin_guy 08-17-1999, 11:01 PM My friend had the same problem with a FIC motherboard, only showed 8MB instead of 32MB. I tried the dimm on my Intel motherboard and it showed up properly. Can you check it on another computer? Good luck Keef 08-20-1999, 09:48 AM The Chipset on your MB is quite old now and does not support 64M in a 8Mx8 format (Eight 8M Chipson 1 board). 4Mx16 (64 Meg RAM) should work fine if you can swap it!
