My slave DVD ROM is stuck. I can't get the DVD holder to come out of the case. What do I do?????:rolleyes:

If there is a pin hole for emergency release, straighten out a paper clip and push it in the hole. It should open the tray unless it's really jambed. If not, then you will have to take the cover off the drive most likely. That is usually from putting the disk in off center. If the light does not flash at boot then maybe the power plug came loose.

I managed to get the DISK holder to come out but now it won't go back in to the DVD Rom drive. It's as if it is jammed in the back or something. Should I just give up and buy another one or is there still hope:eek:

Get another drive. DVD/CDrom drives die all the time.

Thanx!!!....You can get them on sale this weekend at Fry's Electronic for ONLY $20.00. I'll have to go to that mad house today and get one. I was trying to avoid the crowds but I guess I'll have to go anyway.

When it comes to optical drives you should buy by brand, not price. Lite-on and NEC are good this year. I like Samsung drives myself. They are the most quiet ones I've owned and work great.
