I have a new install of NT 4.0 Workstation that refuses to recognize the video card (previously it was operational for a year with the same hardware until a system crash last week). When I tried to reload NT (not repair) I can load the drivers to the video card (STB Riva 128 4mb) and reboot, but it always comes back with "Invalid Display settings" and asks for me to install the drivers. Meanwhile I am stuck in VGA mode, 16 color, etc.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

I have had simular problems and am convinced that the key to reinstalling NT4 is to do everything in the proper order.
1. Do clean install. USE VGA DRIVERS ONLY
2. Install SP3
3. Install Vidio drivers.
4. Install later services packs if you want.
If you have already installed a SP after 3, start over. If not, install SP3, then install your vidio drivers.
Good Luck
In fact, Ive seen a few video drivers that will not work if at a minimum SP3 is not installed.
Is it?

You guys both hit it right on. I installed SP3 and the video immmediately kicked into high-res mode.
I just never could get past the video not working to think about installing SP3. Glad I posted here.
Thanks a lot!
