ran wintune and found my write memory speed slow by a factor of seven compared to others although the read speed was equivalent. tried enwa but says cant id my cpu other than f8. is there an updated version or something else i can do?

i did EXACTLY thesame thing with my K62/300. So, I ran setk6v2 in my autoexec.bat

The command line read:

\unzipped\setk6v2\setk6d /on 32M

the folder was in unzipped, the setk6d was for the dos exe file, and /on turns it on. when you use the dos exe, you have to specify the memory you have, which in my case was 32mb, or 32M. Just use M after the amount of ram, not mb.

Watch when you boot up. In my case it come right out and says that write allocation has been switched on ond no hole at 15-16MB.

You can download the prog at:

Hope this helps you

By the way, I got this url as a reply to one of my other posts. It's powerleap control panel. I used to use an earlier version of this utility, and didn't like it. It was inaccurate, and just didn't work for me. But, I like this one, it enables write allocation, the space at 15-16mb memory, and even has cpu cooling too!

Matter of fact, the cooling seems to work better for me than RAIN or CPUIdle...

Anyway, it's worth a try..

Good luck in all...
