I have bought a new video card - ASUS V3800 AGP with Riva TNT 2 chipset.
Ind have a Skywell S7AX motherboard with ALLADIN chipset. And my pc keeps on freezing on any actions that are related with 3D acceleration - in games 3D Studio etc. Freezes everything sound screen - anything!
One computer specialist said that the chipsets are connflicting - but what to do ?

Mole,
Is your board a socket 7 one ? There are a number of problems between AGP and socket 7 boards.
I had a matsonic Mobo, with a K6-2 400Mhz and my CL Riva TNT. I ended up having to flash upgrade the Mobo Bios and the TNT bios. In addition I had to get a AGP driver for Windows 95, VGARTD.vxd I think its called. You need to install a patch from Microsoft to enable USB support....This patch also has AGP support built in. Once I had done this I then had to experiment with the driver revisions for the TNT, finally settling on the oldest one, which was the only one which gave me a stable system.
I hope this helps you out, sorry I cant be more specific, but its been a while since I went through this pain, and I cant remember exact details.
Thanks Sammy!
I am not shure that my board is socket 7 - i think it isn`t.
I ahve instaled the VDGART driver and it did not help.
Now i will try the upgrades!!!
