I am trying to set up a web server for the small company I work for. I will be doing it under NT, though I wad rather do it in Linux, but the PC needs to be used for small windows based tasks while serving. We are not expecting a lot of hits, and the site is only going provide information (no secure online orders or anything like that). I plan on using apache, but have heard that the windows version is still not very stable. I am also concerned about security issues. Does anyone have any suggestions or tips on setting this up???

honestly? If you really want a web server...go with linux. Basically its a webserver out of the box. Once you install it...thats it. all your files go in the httpd directory...there is an anonymouse ftp--if you want it. Its so easy..and its easy to setup the mail accounts too! I had never done it before..nor di dI have more than a few hours experience in linux...but I installed it, got it running...and that was it. done. perfecto. Its no longer online tho..because it was for a class. The class I took, people had a choice of linux or NT with IIS. and the NT users took a good two or three weeks to get theirs going. me and my group? run install...boom..done...goto the bar.
