I've had problems with Win98. I want to do a clean install and add hardware. I use Lotus Works, Microsoft Office, many games: Quake and other large RPGs. Suggestions for partition sizes and placement of apps. Also want to move swapfile to outer tracks. Thanks.

I use a smaller partition with Win98 and all related drivers on it,about 250-300 megs is enough, then I set up the rest of my stuff on the balance of the drive. When all the important stuff is set up I save an image of
the c partition. Then if "bad things" happen
I can restore c: only and leave everything else where it is
Humm... with a 14Gb HD...
1Gb for Win98 install only, then 2 partitons, 1 for pgms, the other for utilities/games.
smokin1: do you really manage to install Win98 AND your related drivers on a 250/300Mb ?????????

Just a little advice on partition sizes. You probably don't want to make the individual partitions any larger than 7 gigs a piece just for optimal usage of the space when you format. the cluster size increases when you format bigger partitions than 7 gigs under FAT32, thus decreasing efficiency of space.
'course you've got 14 GB to work w/ so a few extra mb of space doesn't really matter http://www.sysopt.com/forum/wink.gif
