Hi, i have a big problem with my HP7100+ cd writer. Since 5 or 6 months when i installed win98, my computer starts to hang up writing the second track of any audio cd that i try to burn. I tried unchecking the DMA option in device manager, antivirus etc. the Easycd creator 3.5 always freezes my pc and i have to destroy another bad cd. I Reinstalled my system back to win95 (where i had no problems burning in the past), but now the same problem persists. Any suggestions?
My system is a p266mmx 32mbram hp7100+ and seagate scsi hdd.
P.s: this pc is connected to a LAN, but like i said, we had no problems with this in the past.

Goto the HP webpage. They have updated software for the cd drives. Also, try checking Sync Data Transfer. I have te 7200i and Windows 98. works like a charm.

Try to delete your ide drivers (if they are from intel) and install standard pci-ide adapter. It worked for me
