To continue the long list of problems we've been having

We now have all emails working on our server (SBS 2003 with MS Exhange Server) but we're having difficulty setting up a new account.

We want an 'info' account so that people can email info@ourcompany.com and anyone can read the emails.

I presume this is a common done thing? We've created an account on the server but we can't seem to access the mailbox in Outlook.

rather simple

first in your Exchange Server you need to make such an account

then You can configure it to deposit emails in the Public Folder area in exchange

or just give everyone access to the info account

all users can have their Own account + any extra access to Other users Inboxes

so you can configure all users Profiles to also have access to the Info inbox

so take your pick and see which on is easier for you

additionally you might want to allow Users the ability to SEND Email AS "Info" user

so when they reply, will not go out as each user accounts name

Thanks man :D

We've configured it as another user 'Info' and given each of us access to his emails.

Problem now is, we have to go to "File-> Open-> Other User's Folder" to access it.

If we change our email settings and add a mailbox in the window "Open these additional mail boxes" It adds a folder, but when you click on it is says "Unable to display the folder. MS Outlook could not access the specified folder location"

Any ideas? We've granted each other permission everywhere that it looked like we needed to.

Its strange though, because if we use "File-> Open-> Other User's Folder" it will open it no problem. We just can't seem to make a shortcut to it!

Check the NTFS permissions

it should be able to open themself automatically

Actually did you ADD the Account, or the Inbox ???

you don't need the Info user account

you only need the Inbox of the Info user.

another workaround is to have that account use a .PST inbox instead of the exchange server inbox

then everyone can open the .PST inbox

:t

but either way, it's just a typical Permission issue, just play around with the mailbox settings and permissions settings for the Info inbox
