Can I use a wireless access point router (BEFW11S4 linksys) in one room, to talk to another WAP router (WRT54G linksys), which is hooked to a cable modem, in another room?

so if I have 2 locations of computers or gaming systems, instead of each computer away from the main computer room having a wireless card , couldnt i just hook it to this WAP router (wich had 4 cat5's in the back) and be able to get on the internet?

Allmost all Regular Wireless Router can not talk to another Wireless Router.

Link: Wireless Network - Configuration Modes. (http://www.ezlan.net/Wireless_Modes.html)

However few Routers do have the capacity to be configured as Clients, and talk to a Gateway Router (Buffalo Tech. as an example).

The Linksys WRT54 can be hacked to be able to talk to another Router.

I do not deal with hacking.

Google for the term Hack WRT54 you probably will come up with something.

you're talking about repeating or bridging modes. you cannot do that with those two waps. you would need a wireless bridge instead.
