7.5 minutes to cold boot & then no sound. Must restart to initialize sound drivers.ATX
slot 1 Elite PRO P6 board w/celeron 400 & maxtor newer 8.4 gb HD. Have tried disabling antivirus in setup & disabling primary & secondary UDMA in integrated peripherals page of setup to no avail. AGP video card and DVD decoder card (dx2) There are no IRQ conflicts. Thank ya, Thank ya very much!

Have you tried using "best performance" settings in the BIOS?? Sounds like you have something set wrong....external cache disabled..maybe?

Where are you seeing the lag in boot-up? Is it at the post and/or at the WIN start splash screen?

When you get to the splash screen, hit your ESC key and see what going on behind...
