At a Attorney firm the problem is on a new XP sp2 P4 PC. It is very slow on accessing secure sites. The use a certificate to access a spesific site and when trying to access the site it brings up the certificate screen. When I accept the certificate the status bar show there is progress, my hard drive works but it does not open the required site. It timed out after 5 minutes and stopped. I imported the certificate to another XP PC sp2 and it worked fine. Then to a 2000 pc and again no problem. I did check all the IE6 settings to be the same as the working PC.
Now I want to re-install IE6 if someone does not have a solution, but it does not seem to be that simple. Every IE6 package I try I get the message that I already have a newer version and can not install.
I can only take over the PC during lunch hours and does not have much time. The re-install everything is not an option.
Please help.
