I recently downloaded quake three test (win98)and found that I needed open gl drivers for it to work. I have a 16 mb diamond monster fusion agp card and downloaded a 3dfx open gl driver from download.com that was supposed to detect my specific card and install the right drivers. I thought all went well, and the quake test played wonderfully. I even noticed that another program that I use bencmarked about 75% higer on the 2d and 3d graphics. The problem is that now a lot of other applications cause my computer to freeze, mainly netscape navigator 4.6. I never had freezeing problems before, so I uninstalled the drivers and the freezing went away. I have the most current drivers for my video card installed, so I am not sure what to do. I like the benefits of the open gl for quake and a few other programs, but can't live with the freezing....anyone have any suggestions on how to cure this problem???

Did you try the GL driver from Diamond?

Note the Bios info.

Heh.. I just today got a Monster Fusion working with Q3Test. I did it with the latest drivers from xenograph.net (http://xenograph.net) .

I also downloaded drivers from wicked3d.com, but I haven't tried them out yet. They are supposed to be 50% faster.

Thanks for the advice. I tried the Diamond drivers and they don't work. It said they were specifically wrote for quake 1 & 2 and would not work with anything else. I will try the ones you mentioned Joel, hopefully they will work. Did they cause any other problems on your computer? I can get Q3 to work fine, but the drivers screw other things up.
