I've got a XFX GeForce 6600GT AGP and it's core clock is 500MHz. However, when I open the Futuremark SystemInfo from 3DMark05 is says my VGA core clock is at 299.3MHz. Does anyone know if there is an explanation for this because that's a pretty scary number to see if you're expecting 500! Thanks!

Also, how fast are the game tests in 3DMark really supposed to run on a Athlon2200XP+ w/ 512PC2100 because I get pretty crappy framerates? Is this normal?

What kind of scores are you getting? Did you install the latest patch for it? 05 is pretty taxing on your video card. I get some real low fps with a gig of ram, 6800gt, and an amd @ 2.5GHz. I would also think you have a slight bottleneck with an amd 2200 and a 6600gt.

Do you think that upgrading to a 333MHz Barton would eliminate the bottleneck or should I shell out the extra bucks for a 400? Processors are just so darn expensive right now!

do you have the latest version of 3dmark05? they just released an update; build 1.2.0.

Updated System Info module with support for the latest CPU and graphics hardware

3dmark05 is supposed to really stress your video card, so there are some pretty low fps.

You should look into a Mobile Athlon XP. Lodge can help you with that.

I've been having some troubles figuring out what my XFX 6600GT is clocked at. The GPU's supposed to be at 500MHz. However, 3DMark05 reports it as only running at 300MHz. At first I thought this was a little strange. Then, looking at the clock speeds in the ForceWare section of display properties, it says my 2D speed is at 300MHz and that my 3D speed is at 500MHz. What gives? I'm getting tones of tearing (white lines in between wall or floor textures) in the really dark hallways/tunnels of HL2. I hope this isn't a problem related to the clock.

ShadeZero-Of course someone else posted the same question... IT WAS ME!!! However, this question is addressing the clock frequency displayed in another place. So, I'm reposting.
