Heres the situation. PC is an HP Vi, thus an HP mobo with 1 parrallel port. Running WinNT 4.0 and a network printer set up on LPT1 (changing this is not an option) how can I set up the unused parrallel port as LPT2 to add a local printer to the machine?

P.S. Changing the I/O and IRQ in the Bios was tried to no avail.

Any ideas, suggestions, references?

Thanks in advance

If the one printer is conected to your comtuter you would have to add the another card with a printer port on it
If the printer is conected to a hub or other computer the you would be conected by a network printer not using the LPT! port

Lets see if I understand you correctly. Your LPT1 is a printer down the hall and you want to connect a printer to your local machine??

If the above is correct, you should only have to connect the printer to the back of your machine and install the drivers. You shouldn't have to do the following if you don't print DOS apps but, go to a dos prompt and type:
net use lpt2: \yourpcname\yourprintername /persistent:yes
