System restore

Hello, I have a Sony Vaio desktop computer and I want to restore it as it came from the factory. I have the CDs to do that and I was wondering how to do it. Should I just turn on the computer and then insert the CDs or should I put it in Safe mode or something like that. Also, one CD containing the applications restore is missing (I have only CD#2, but I have 3 out of 3 for the system restore), how will it be affected if I just use the ones for the system restore?

boot from system restore cd1. follow the instructions after that.

if you don't have your apps cd, then just cancel the install after the system restore is finished. you'll just be missing some apps. you can always order a new set from sony.

How do I boot from CD#1?

just put it in the drive and restart the computer. you may have to go into the bios and change your boot order.
