strange,
My new 6800LE with 16 pipelines and 6 Vertex shaders won't give me high fps.

My 3d2001 benchmarks is very low: 6500

When I run the bench, the fps in low and high resolution games is more or less the same.

is there a setting related to fps maximum I should verify.

Does anyone have a cure for this. I already checked some threats but didn't find similair probs.

BTW in true games I don't experience real probs.

system:
amd 2500@3200 (2200mhz)
nforce2 deluxe
512 DDR 333
200gb maxtor

cheers,
JW

The 6800LE is by default an 8 Pixel Pipeline, 4 vertex shader card! Did you softmod it to open those extra pipes?

disable vsync

Yep,
got extra resources softly through Riva

Works perfectly. Actually, I bougt the card with a pipeline-garantee. It's been tested with 16,6 with no artifacts and works perfectly.

Before I had the good scores. Just upgraded mobo and cut away half the ram. Still have 512 but this is one module on a dual channel board. Could this have something to do with it?

Did you disable vsync or not?

Tes,
I did disable Vsync. Thought it was application controlled but was permanently switched on!

Nog my 3D2001 scores are fine again, around 15000

many thanks to Midknyte!!

Never knew it made that much of a difference.....:(

yeah Vsync locks some apps with your monitors refresh rate therefore killing frames in benchmarks and some online games. Counter-Strike is a good example of this. :r

Midknyte is the one who taught me that too.:p :D
