Steve R Jones 08-10-1999, 07:16 AM virus Software used to infect a computer. After the virus code is written, it is buried within an existing program. Once that program is executed, the virus code is activated and attaches copies of itself to other programs in the system. Infected programs copy the virus to other programs. DOS FAT (DOS File Allocation Table) The part of the DOS and OS/2 file system that keeps track of where data is stored on disk. When the disk is high-level formatted, the FAT is recorded twice and contains a table with an entry for each disk cluster. Win98 has a utility called Drive Converter to convert to fat32. Please do a lot of research before converting. LordLocksley 08-10-1999, 10:33 PM YES russjan 08-11-1999, 07:30 AM As long as you are not using older versions of Windows NT, don't worry about it. I've been using FAT32 since it was released with Windows 95 OSR2 and on 3 different computer systems ranging from a Pacakard Bell Pentium 75 to my present homebuilt AMD K6-2 450 system. I also use McAfee 4.xxx as well. The only problems I've had were (not fat32 related)when I upgraded my system to Higher capacity Hard Drives. I had to get newer versions of Norton Utilities and Partition Magic. Good Luck, Russ SysOpt.com
