i currently have an audigy 2 zs sound card with sennheiser headphones, but i hate them. my motherboard came with 6 channel realtek on board sound. my friend has been trying to convince me to get these (http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/product.php?productid=2677&cat=101&page=1) to take full advantage of the on board sound if i choose to go that way. otherwise i am thinking of getting these (http://www.jab-tech.com/customer/product.php?productid=2676&cat=101&page=1) and just using my audigy 2, but i need your input before i buy. what is going to sound better in your opinion? i play a lot of games, mostly online and listen to some music and use voice communication while gaming.

Thats a good choice and will work well...
Plantronics is the leader in headphone technology now and reviews are very good.
Since I ,personally do not use a mic for gaming now, I chose to just use a good set of headphones..plugged inot my Creative remote jack...for my speakers.
it would be nice to get more of a 5.1 auido sound over the headphones..but its reallly not the same as outside speakers and never will be. ;)

The USB headset will presumably use more CPU cycles up, I would get the headset that connects through the mic/speaker jack.

I have the second set of plantronics with an audigy2 for gaming and using vent. Sound quality is good as far as headsets go. Only basis of comparison was some GE brand pos headset I had before the plantronics.
If you are truly concerned with sound quality, then headsets are gimped to begin with. I have flipped from using 4.1 speaker setup with a mic on the desk and the headsets and there is no comparison which sounds better. Obviously, practicality is a question if you can get away with playing speakers and a mic which everyone and their mother can hear.
I say go for the second plantronics. Save the money and enjoy the benefits of the audigy2 card. You will notice a substantial difference not in the different headsets, but rather the soundcard imo.
