Dont know if any of you guys have tried this, but I just installed the Diamond Shotgun CD and it says when making a new dial up networking connection, you need to choose the shotgun adapter (instead of the modem). Problem is I dont get the adapter to show up on my dropdown. I think I installed the software correctly and the adapter is in the control panel for network devices. I do not have an account set up with my ISP yet for shotgun but I dont think this would have anything to do with it. Any ideas?

Dial Upn Networking needs a modem to look for. The shotgun adapter should have a set of drivers that simulates a modem. Is it diamond's shotgun modem or are you trying to use 2 modems? Is there a det of drivers for DUN to look for?

I think I may have found my problem on Diamonds tech sight. I have to close all programs running in the background, reinstall DUN plus the shotgun software. I will try tonight. Sounds like real stable software! Thanks. It is a diamond modem (one is at least)

Don't bother with Shotgun, just use the multilinking in Win98. It's much more stable and easier to use, and it will work with any two modems.

Im going to try the shotgun since I already spent the 20 bucks for the CD. It is a bit annoying to set up.

Well, when you've pulled out your hair enough trying to set up shotgun, let us know, and we'll help setup multilink...that is [i]if[/b] you need any help with it.

Fine, you win Comtech. Spent two hours trying to get the shotgun adapter to come up and it did not. Follwed those directions to a T. I tested both modems and they both work. One on Com2 the other on Com4. I set them up for multilinking. I guess now I need to get the other line installed and call my ISP to get the multilinking account. Is there anything else I need to know. I spent the 20 buck so at least I had to try!!

Uhh... COM 2 and COM 4 are usually use the same IRQ. Won't you only be able to access one at a time with those settings? Unless one's a winmodem on a bizzare IRQ or something...

mmmm, did not think of that. I tested them both individually. Now that I think about it, I think windows has one on Com 3 and the other on 4. However I am still inclined to think I saw it on Com 2 as well. Wont know until I get back from work. The saga continues.

Be careful if you have a serial mouse on COM 1 as well. COM 1 and COM 3 also share their IRQ, which has been known to cause problems.

okay here is your answer .... multilink pah load of **** thats if you can find an isp supporting it properely .... after hours and hours of trying to get multilink ppp to work i came across a program called MIDPOINT TEAMER... you can use ANY 2 modems and it will work with ANY ISP as long as you can dial in twice to them .... i am currently connected to the internet with 2 v90 usr modems but it work fine on my laptop with my 33.6 pcmcia and one of my usr v90 external modems... it is very very quick and its the best thing i have ever i mean ever downloaded from the internet. you can get it from this site www.midicore.com or from http://tucows.cyberspacehq.com/multiple95.html

GET IT YOU WONT REGRET IT
