Just to share my experience.

While ago Newegg had promotions offering "free after rebates" SOYO Mobos.
I did go for it and here I'm now almost 5 months later with no rebate, no way of finding the status and with SOYO not responding anymore to emails requesting status updates.

I guess I have no choice that to say bye-bye to my money...........buyer be ware.

Did you make copies of your copies and re-send em in with a mean letter?

Soyo's rebate HQ is:

http://www.verifyrebate.com

Don't feel bad, I'm still waiting 7 months for $70 worth of rebates from Soyo. First and last time I'll ever do business with them...what a way to make happy customers...

For others in this situation with Soyo, anyone up for filing a Class Action Lawsuit? :D

For those of us in the US, file a complaint at the FTC's website
http://www.ftc.gov/

I do have copies but I'm affraid that resending submition material will delay their response time by let's say.............may be two years.

I did not get mine either and it is the last time that I buy SOYO—I was NOT impressed with mobo and provided software anyway. Back to ASUS, MSI and EPOX for me.

I received my $$ from Western Digital within a month on 3 separate occasions--

I haven't gotten my rebate eather. Plus the board is a POS to say the least. I'll stay with Asus and Abit from now on.

Hehe, you guys THOUGHT Soyo was giving away boards that probably had a manufacturing cost of around $70? Plus development, tooling, etc. of course.

When I wrote the motherboard review I had to hold my tongue against my past experience with Soyo. Basically, I bought a board, less than two months latter it popped caps, so I submitted the RMA form.

No response, so I did it again

No response, so I called them and was promptly put on hold. After an hour or so, I was told to resubmit the RMA form.

I resubmitted the RMA form, a month later still no action, so I called them. Put on hold again, etc, "rinse and repeat".

After 8 RMA attempts, 10 months, and 6 long distance phone calls, the call center agreed to fix my board, all I had to do was pay the processing fee. I fixed the board myself.

I've gotten around half my rebates from various manufacturers. My last ATI rebate didn't go through because I bought the card from Best Buy, had to submit the rebate through Best Buy, and somehow according to ATI it got lost between Best Buy and them.

Same story here. Bought a Soyo motherboard in September of 04. No rebate, no response to e-mails or phone calls.
Looks like I will turn this in to the Attorney General for starters.
Won't buy another Soyo product, that's for sure.

FYI:
It seams that if you complain about your situation to Newegg, they will apollogize ( of course ) and ask you in a very nice way to re-submit the paper work TO THEM directly, then THEY will forward it to SOYO and make sure you get your check/s.

At least this is what Newegg told me.

Good luck

hey all.. I'm glad I'm not the only one that's being scr*wed by Newegg/Soyo. They say mine is invalid because they didn't receive the Receipt!! Its un-believable that they can make **** up. I sent everything together. If they wanted to lie, they could have said it was lost in the mail. Anyways, I just got this email from Newegg:

Dear Valued Customer,

We noticed that you purchased a SOYO SY-P4i865PE+V1.0 Motherboard from us between 08/03/04 & 10/27/04.

As you may recall, our website advertised a mail in rebate for the SOYO SY-P4i865PE+V1.0 during that time. In partnership with SOYO, wed like to make sure youre able to redeem both rebates.

SOYO has provided a web-based application that allows you to check the status of your SOYO rebate(s) online. To use it, simply log on to www.verifyrebate.com. Alternatively, you can e-mail soyo@verifyrebate.com or call 909-292-2528 during regular business hours (9:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m., Monday Friday) to speak with a SOYO representative who can help address your issues or concerns. Please make sure to include your information such as first name, last name, mailing address as registered on the rebate form in the email to expedite your rebate verification process.

Please contact SOYO after the period of processing your rebate has passed (10-14 weeks, as stated on the rebate form) if youre having trouble redeeming one or both rebates. If you need a proof of purchase to support your claim, you may visit the My Account page at www.newegg.com to print out an official invoice.

I guess my speech sucks.

Since I am not the only one getting screwed, Its somewhat more likely that something will be done about Soyo's (no pay) rebate program. I read there are class action lawsuits forming

Just to let everyone know about my results with SOYO.....

In August of 2004 i bought a Soyo kt400 dragon ultra mobo. It had a total of $40 in rebates.

I sent the rebate materials in promptly. Now December.... no news. January....I started sending e-mails to verifyrebate and towards the end of January to Soyo themselves. I evern left a voice mail. Absolutely no reply.

At the end of January I wrote a very professional letter to the Office of the President at Soyo. I included supporting documation and told them that if I didn't hear from them by Feb. 20th I would turn the matter over to my state's Attorney General and the Federal Trade Commission. Approx. a week and half later I received an e-mail indicating that a check would be mailed.

Lo and behold. Got my checks (2-$20s) this past saturday.

I have had good luck in the past resoving other issues by going straight to the top. Need to be professional in the letter though and provide supporting documentation that your requests have gone unheeded.

:p

I purchased the Soyo Dragon MB (moderate performer) in August '04 and received my rebates March 1st '05. Had called and was told both rebates were in process, then received an email stating only one rebate was in, I re-submitted about 5 weeks ago and also sent copies of all correspondence with Soyo to Newegg. (I don't know if Newegg helped).

I had given up, but at least got the $. I don't believe I'll buy another Soyo product, however. The rebate thing works if the $ comes somewhat timely, otherwise it's a cause for losing customers....

I have $70 in rebates. I sent in both forms to the address they specified and have had to harass them for seven months plus only to have them tell me they never got the stuff.
