Here's the facts. All new components. MB, HD, 233MMX, 32meg PC 100 SDRAM, 64 Bit PCI Video. Installed items. Powered up system, got the 1 ok beep, ran check on memory, reconized HD and CD rom, then the floppy continues to run non-stop. From here you have to do a cold reboot. All cables are fine. Tried another HD, Video, and stick of memory. I can't boot from floppy or get to A:> Prompt to FORMAT. Oh yeah Tried WD EZ-drive and MAXTOR Blast to FMT and PTION new Drive. Got an error with Maxtor Blast that said "ERROR: MCB damaged". With EZ drive I had Fatal Error. Any Suggestions?

If I understand this correctly--when you boot the machine the floppy light stays on all the time? If this is so It is more likley than not that the floppy cable is plugged in upside down--backwards. Generally but not always pin one is next to the power plug but I have had a couple, dont remember what brand that was the other way. Also check on the other end of the cable for pin 1 matchup also make sure the floppy is on the cable after the twist in the cable.
