The following error message (blue screen) appears at Windows 98 startup: "Invalid VXD dynamic link call from VREDIR(01) + 00006CCE to device "VNBT ", service 2."
I checked Nathan's page but couldn't find any reference to this error.
It doesn't seem to be a major problem because we can get in the system and it doesn't appear every time. Is there any way to resolve this error without reinstalling Windows 98?

I seem to remember getting a similar error on a gateway computer with win98 installed. It wasn't windows, 'cause the same Hard drive worked fine in another computer.
Have you loaded any updated drivers to your PC other than the ones that came with it when you bought it.
Is your Pc running in MS-DOS Incompatible MODE. If it is then it maybe a ide driver or a bus master drive that is incompatible with your setup. Cdrom drivers loaded at startup I have seen cause this error; also updateing your bus Mastering drivers can cause this too.

To find out if you are in MS-DOS Incom.....
Look in your system properties under performance.

just my 2 cents.
