Your stereo should have red and white plugs at the back (if it doesn't, your out of luck). Set your SB Live to a 2 speaker system and run a line from those two plugs to the front speaker port in the sound card. (You can get surround if you have another pair of speakers).

I have a soundblaster live & run my computer as a jukebox (using musicmatch jukebox). I have over 100 of my CD's MP3'd & use this instead of my cd player. It basically works as a 120 stacker CD player. Connects exactly as a CD player would. Cannot really even hear the difference between playing CD's & playing MP3's. You just need to go to Radioshack/Tandy etc. & get a cable that will connect the two.

Beware......to do this you need quite a bit of free disc space. So far I have about 4.5G dedicated to the jukebox.

Even my wife likes the computer now!!

You can also get a cheapo booster to output those skinny wires from sound card as input to the booster, and output the boost into your receiver input. I play CD's off my computer thru my stereo receiver/speakers this way, setting the dial to Phono 1 and flipping the Monitor switch. Sounds great thru 120w speakers! http://www.sysopt.com/forum/smile.gif

I have a Emachine 333k and it has the crystal on-board sound chip. I also have a Philips/Magnavox Surround Theater System - 300.00 in most stores with speakers.

Anyways I plug the sound card output to the CD input of the Stereo and set the stereo to surround and Hall effect.

Believe me it sounds like a live concert.

The patch cable cost about 6.99 at Radio Shack.
