I’m looking for a Free if not trail Version of a good data recovery program, the Problem is that this is not a HDD but a memory stick that contains some pictures of one of my customers deceased family members, I have tried to get the Pictures to come up on a different Camera, I get the error "Format Error" on 5 different Cameras right now I am using a Floppy Disk that holds memory cards in it so it can read from your Floppy drive. I get the same error as above. I am trying so hard for this Guy because the pictures are of a reunion before the passing on of his family member.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

What about the camera the pictures were taken on? Is there any chance you could plug it into the PC? That may help, but I think you're going to have to tell the guy the pictures are lost.

PS: Not that I have tried the above, but I found it via Google. :t

I'm confused - what's the brand and capacity of the digital camera memory card, or is this a USB storage device.
A camera card is should be readable by most card readers and they're cheap if you don't have access to one, or is this a memory stick they downloaded pictures from their computer to?
p.s. - you probably won't find a free or even trialware version for data rescue that's useable - I've had very little luck :(

Hello CrazyCrusher,
Go to The Sony Talk Forum (http://www.dpreview.com/forums/forum.asp?forum=1009) for assistance with this.
I know there are free applications to recover images from SM, CD and a couple of other types of media. This particular post has a link for a "trial" image recovery program. (http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1009&message=4591862) Search through the rest of thier forum before asking - just as you would here.
It's likely that someone has modified an image on a PC and inadvertantly saved it back on the media. Depending on the reader/writer, this can alter the format to not work on the camera or reader/writer.
Your Sony Memory Stick is one I've not personally used. I'm confident the folks on the aforementioned forum will be able to help.

Hello CrazyCrusher,
C@@L! Thats what its all about. ;)
Did you notice that forum is broken down by brand name of cameras etc? I'm a member of the Fuji Talk one and they have been almost as helpful as the folks here on SysOpt.
It's such a pleasure to be able to help someone who's been so very helpful to me over the last couple of years. :)
