I just installed a new hard drive, and now my cdrom drive has no drive letter assigned to it. I know it is there because when i go to system/devices, it is listed and said to be functioning correctly. any suggestions?

Brian, you are very sparse on your details.....I assume that since you can see the cd in the device manager that it is Win95 or Win98 you have installed. How did you install the new HD? Did you copy one HD to the other completely with a program like DriveCopy? or did you fdisk and format then reload all of your programs and the OS? Did you have a bootdisk with your CDROM drivers on it, or add the drivers from a floppy after you used a start-up disk? With your limited info, I suggest that you go to your device manager and simply remove the cdrom then reboot and Windows should recognize your cd and assign it a drive letter. If however, you simply installed an additional HD, did you set the jumpers to master and slave, if they are on the same cable with your CD? We need more information.
