Due to this products strict compatibility design, I cannot see it being all that popular. The card is limited exclusively to Gigabyte’s own brand nForce4 SLI motherboard and therefore is useless for anyone not using this motherboard. ....The limitation to a single motherboard has deemed such an amazing product useless for so many people.

The biggest flaw.. They should now this wont help them get a bigger marketshare

The concept is interesting, though.

There's just too much going against it. It overheats, doesn't OC very well, and then you gotta use the Gigabyte MB. 3 strikes, you're out!

Voodoo Baught 3dfx right?
So nvidia owns the Dual core technology of Voodoo, the SLI of 3dfx, yet....still they are only tied with ATI...hmmm

ATI is coming out with their own version of SLI technology, and their own Chipsets/mobo's.
Next might be dual core technology..

I haven't heard about ATI going to do that... might be the same situation as this if you have to have a certain board.

it's comparing 2 6600GT cores to the X800XT. Roughly the same suggested price range for that setup. Because of supply/demand, the X800XT and PE prices are inflated.

If it was a dual 6800U card, then it should demolish an X800XT PE.

Yeah, it would be nice to see dual-core cards, but they would be majorly expensive and out of most people's price range. They compare the 6600GT's to the X800XT because that would be about the same price range, -$100 or so. Having two 6800GT's would easily crush a X800XT (exept in HL2 as SLI benchmarks have shown) but would cost in the $800 range.

as i read the article, looking at it was sweet, but reading the results were not that impressive. runs hot, SLI compatible Mobo and is not compatible w/ intel or via boards.

That would benchmark well at 3dmark05, and that card is proberty a power hungry card from your powersupply!:r

And it doesn't need a seperate power supply cable, atleast I didn't see one hooked up.
