Thanks for the reply bob.

I've tried modifying the parallel port mode to both ECP and EPP with no joy. I don't understand the "ECP MODE USE DMA" field that goes with the ECP option, I've used 3 so far. Will this help solve my problem of no boot when a device is plugged in to the port? All the devices work fine in my old PC.

I had a lot of trouble getting my new PC to recognize my Iomega and printer.So I went to Iomega's tech's here what they told me.If using Win 98--to plug in each device separtly and then let the Add Hardware wizard load the soft ware.Do the Iomega,then the printer,then the scanner.after they're all loaded alone,then you can daisy chain them but the Iomega has to be first.I finally wound up getting a switch for the paralell port that accepts upto 4 devices,as I had a lot of hangups with the daisy chain.Good luck.
