Hello
I have a PII266 on an Intel LX MB 32 megs of ram and an S3 chip video card (4megs).
I have a motorola SM56 modem and when I am online and I open up Ms Flightsimulator 98 I get Disconnected from my internet connection. The modem is Internal PCI the video card is AGP and I have an SB16 sound card. I suspect that the modem (now plugged in no 4 PCI slot!!!) is conflicting with the AGP card, not sure!
And it is also sharing IRQ9 with "IRQ Holder for PCI Steering"!!! Does that mean anything. I am getting disconnected alot, and it is not my ISP cos I just changed it!

Thanks in advance for the help!

are you trying to play games on the internet, and do you have a win modem?

win modems don't work well with internet gaming especially graphicly intense games.

Some mobos share the last PCI slot with the AGP slot. Move the modem to another slot, and leave the last one empty if you can.
The recommendation to get a different modem is a valid one. If you love playing online games, get a "hard" modem, and stay away from winmodems. Check for lots of modem info at www.56k.com (http://www.56k.com)

Thanks for the advice fellas, I fiddled with the modem and moved it from PCI nos 2 to 3 and 4 now up to 1. Now the problem is that b4 I could get online I get disconnected when I open the program! A friend of mine has an internal modem (dont know if it is winmodem, I guess it is if it is internal!) and it is working great.
Still fiddling, and waiting for suggetions, if any!
Thanks.
