Halo Help

I just played my first halo tonight.
Have a 2.2 on a raid mobo.
I'm using a basic ms ball mouse.
have rr now for 4 months.
I Was creamed ............
Is there any pointers anyone can give me to not get creamed ???
well the video card is a 128mb radeon9200.
i know practice but any hardware i can upgrade to help ??
don't get into cheats but i don't like getting creamed...........
any help is greatly appreciated....

If you are playing the multiplayer, do expect to get trounced. I've both hosted my own server and played on others' and I find that he who hosts, has a BIG advantage. In this game, even with skills being equal, ping is king.

Unlike HL1 (and its mods), I do not believe there is any compensation for lag (i.e., the infamous netcode). The only advice I can give you is to practice, and anticipate.

You might also want to consider altering your tactics somewhat. Instead of charging into a firefight, approach from the flanks, and pick off stragglers.

Your hardware specs are adequate for HALO. My lowest end gaming box has a Celeron 1.7 (Socket 478) with 512 and an ATI 9000. Graphics are not the greatest, but it does the job.
