Win 3.1 question?

On my daughters computer in win 3.1, when she clicks on the control panel in the main window, she gets a window error message that reads "Can only work with linear addressing hardware". She then clicks OK or cancell it desn't matter. After that the icons for control panel show up. What is that error message anyway? Puzzled?

Found the problem. Had loaded some intel video drivers onto windows. Not good!!!! Intel i740 chip set on capture card I found out does not run with the video card that I have or with anything else for that matter. Capture card should make a good door stop.
