I just bought a monitor at a garage sale. A Sony Trinitron. My video cable won't fit. It only has 2 rows of pins instead of 3.
Is there an adapter or special cable? Should I expect it to perform as well with fewer connecting pins?

Sounds like you got yourself a cga adaptor, http://www.sysopt.com/forum/redface.gif not a vga adaptor. Sorry

It could be an EGA multisync monitor. I've seen a Sony 14inch that came with VGA(15pin) or EGA(9pin) connectors but was otherwise the same. You can get an adapter that may allow it to work at some computer stores. It might be worth a shot.

Yeah... it's a 9 pin. I hope it's like you say, that I can get an adapter.
I'm feeling better now. I didn't want to say it at first, but I actually bought 20 of these monitors. A local hospital had a garage sale and I got there early.
I'll do some looking and let you know how I come out. Thanks for the input guys. Get your reward at = http://nexad.com/freestuff.html

Just wanted to let everyone know that I found the adapters... SVGA(15 pin) to VGA(9 pin).
If anyone needs any kind of cable or adapter, go to >> http://netseller.com ... they seem to have everything you could need. Thanks again.
