Hey all. I just got me LOTR:BFME, and I love it. I don't really like RTS games, but BFME hooked me cause I love LOTRs. The problem is, the game crashes constantly, even when I'm just loading a new campaign... it's really annoying... not to mention the fact that I get the same major slowdown issues that everyone else seems to be complaining about. I know there's not a patch out yet, but are their any cracks/hacks/tweaks that will make the game run smoother? Also, has there been an anouncement of a patch? I know EA isn't to good about patching most of their games, but BFME badly needs a patch or else it's gonna have to go in the same pile I threw Doom 3 in after playing it once and then enjoyed the amazing replay value...

System Specs:
Athlon XP 2400 OC'd to 190x11
GeForce 6800 GT at stock (was getting too hot OC'd)
512MB DDR400 @190MHz
Windows XP Pro SP2

Sorry it took me a while to reply... gotta love the holidays :p

It seems alot of people are having the same problem as you, yet I havent seen anyone with a fix for it nore has the company said anything related to a patch, have you tried to run your system at stock everything? CPU Ram Video?
Check make sure your Chipset drivers are upto date, and your Video card wich im sure they are.

Yes, yes, yes, yes, and they are (71.42).

For some reason, it has stopped crashing now... but it's still laggy at times. Especially when I'm building buildings. I'm guessing it's that I don't have enough RAM, but I would figure that 512MB should be enough... I guess it's time to bite the bullet and finally buy me another stick.

I thought DDR400 is supposed to be @400 not @190, bump that back up to 400 and you should see a speed improvment

DDR400 is 200MHz at full speed. I've got it at 190MHz because my CPU is a 266/133 bus and I've got it OC'd to 380/190.
