Ref the FrayDenZpost "Win98 not running well - sorta jerky," solution which indicated reloading the MB drivers. Is this unique to certain motherboards? I did a clean install of Win98SE using format c:/s but never considered trying to reload ASUS TX97E mb drivers and don't know what they would be. Only thing I see are the IDE and PCI bridges which Win 98 seemed to have taken care of--bios is up to date. Did I miss a clean install step?

Check the website of your Mobo's Manufacterer. It will tell you if you need drivers or patchs for your particular board.

Already checked the web site and the CD that came with board...nothing about MB drivers just brideges, bios, and special monitoring program. Can anyone take a quick look at the ASUS MB TX97E and let me know where there is an MB driver?

The TX chipset being an Intel chipset and the fact that WIN is newer than that chipset, you are fine.

WIN has the resident drivers installed. If your system funs fine and there are no yellow exclamations at HD controllers, don't worry...
