wehn macromedia says there is no flash available for this browser, is it assuming you will download the one for opera, mozilla, etc one?

If you are currently running Firefox and go to this URL:
http://www.macromedia.com/shockwave/download/download.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

...it will automatically let you download the one for Mozilla-based products.

Is it recognizing that Firefox is installed on your machine? If the problem persists, i'd try reinstalling Firefox and trying to install the flash player again.

...wow, I have absolutely NO idea what that is about...

There must be bigger problems afoot besides getting a flash player installed...i'd try scanning w/all the usual programs first.

Something seems to be screwed up with your internet browser, i'd definately try reinstalling Firefox...what version are you running currently anyways?

Hmm, i'd definately try upgrading to 1.0 (the latest version). And I have tried it, i've got flash working in my copy of Firefox no problems at all (3 different computers and no problems yet). Your problem perplexes me, but its always good to challenge the mind :) :D

Flash products are a pretty neat thing...but you know,I had someproblems somewhat like yours a ways back in my novice computer days...am even though I have it on my machine now...I do not really use it for much....

I will bet my bottom dollar that they have spyware vendors and solicitors encorporating thier offering..... read the fine print.....

Isn't the whole point of getting Firefox that you have one browser with none of the BS installed in it? I have macro and flash installed in IE but not Firefox. Keeps away those anoying Flash popups etc. If I need to view a site with the fancy extensions then I just switch browsers to IE.

I highly recommend trying this.
