Do you mean Linux? Think you got to buy Unix. Try here for some good linux distros:

If you want to try something easy, try Knoppix. Boots off a cd and gives a good feel for Linux.

slackware is a fairly unix-like linux distro

Also there's freeBSD that's a free unix-based OS.
