I just wanted to give a warning to anyone looking to buy a 370 to Slot 1 adapter: MAKE SURE IT WILL FIT IN YOUR CASE. Call me a boob, but this is what happened to me... I bought a new Abit BX6 II mobo and decided to be thrifty and get a 400MHz celeron with an adapter. I go to put it in a brand new mid-tower I just bought and BAM! the **** adapter tries to occupy the same space as the power supply. I couldn't believe it! So until I purchase a PIII, PII, or a Slot 1 Celeron, I stuck with my power supply outside of my case.

I had a similar experience with a really cheap, very crappy Slot 1 -> socket adapter. My Inwin case gave me just enough room if I slid the power supply in after putting the card in the slot, but it was a tight fit and pushed down on the adapter more than I would have liked. I got an Microstar MS-6905 adapter and all is well now. It is a much shorter and vastly better design. When compared to a slot 1 Celeron, it is maybe 1/3" taller, where the other adapter was more like 3/4". You get what you pay for.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I'm glad I'm not the only one out there who has had this problem. I'm going to look into that other adapter...thanx!

For reference, I have an Inwin A600 case that places the power supply directly over the CPU. In looking at other Inwin cases, it looks like any of the "A" series (A500, A600, etc) would have similar problems. I really like the size of this case (mid tower) so I put up with it, but it you are looking at massive cooling options, I would avoid looking at these cases. Go for a Q600 or Q500 full tower instead.
