how do you have it hooked up in your system is it on slave or master? on ide1 or ide2 connector? is it hooked up wiht another hard drive on same cable or cdrom? these all play a role in buffer under runs. also in win98 what r u running at the same time whne u burn stuff? like what is in your task bar u shoudl close all programs and disable auto start programs or screensavers and u want to hook up the cd writer all by itself as master but if that dont work make it master on one of your ide cables and the other item as slave!
