The motherboard is a GCT-MGX. When the Banshee card is installed, I get some 'windows protection' error and can't get past that

I tired putting a Creative Labs 3D Banshee card in a system with a Cyrix processor, and the system would not boot. Does anyone know if this card will work with a Cyrix chip?

There is a jumper to change to "disable onboard VGA and to connect external VGA card", but I tried it and it still wouldn't work. Is that what this jumper is for?

sounds like it..
do you have the latest bios revision for that motherboard... some boards have problems with certain things a bios revision can take care of.......
but im not sure that posting is one of them....
Have you tried any other video cards in the the pci slots or have you tried the banshee video card in a different computer just to check if its in working order....

I have tried the Banshee in another computer, and it works fine, so that is not the problem.

I did 'try' to ubdate my bios and did something wrong, and now the thing won't even boot (nothing even comes on the monitor) I'm in the process of looking for a new MB, since I really didn't like that Cyrix chip anyhow
