Hi there,
I'm looking at a problem for a friend as I am meant to be the expert, NOT!

System
BIOSTAR Mobo intel VX chipset
Pentium 100

Problem

Can't see CDROM
Intel 82371SB PCI Bus Mastering IDE controllers in conflict.

What I have done so far

Made the CD a primary slave.
Tried removing the items in conflict, in hope that they reinstall correctly.
Check registy for NOIDE record - not there.
INstalled Intel Bus mastering drivers (even though I dont think I was meant to).
Tried both Intel & Microsoft drivers.
Disconnected CDROM, leaving primary master harddrive.
Removed PCI Bus from device manager, in hope that everything would re-install correctly

Nothing has worked. The owner of the PC re-installed Win95 about 4 times trying to fix this problem.

Any Clues greatly appreciated

HarryH

Did you do a virus check?

Thanks, it was indeed a virus.
AntiCMOS a:

Screwed up the Ide controller and so on.

Virus removed and PC fixed

Thanks again
